What People Say about Kirk
(July 2009)Â Â
Hi, Kirk,Thanks again for a great presentation at our staff conference. The “buzz” we heard from our staff in the evaluations was overwhelmingly positive. And I should let you know that our Oakland office has decided to initiate a weekly “huddle”…will involved whatever staff happen to be in the office that day, and we’ll rotate the one leading the huddle, per your suggestion. Plus we’re buying The Big Moo. Baby steps JHope your trip to Amsterdam with your wife was great. Mary AnneMary Anne Burkman, M.P.H, R.D. -  Director, Program Services  – Dairy Council of California ———————————————————————-
Kirk, Just wanted to thank you for another great breakout session at the RightNow User’s Conference in Colorado Springs!  You are so motivating and inspiring-I always leave your session refreshed and excited to return to work!  I would LOVE for you to come speak at our corporate offices-I know that everyone would benefit from hearing you speak. Â
I also want to thank you for kindly posing for a picture in our Bass Pro Shops hat.  I have attached it for you to view. This is our “BPS traveling hat” that associates in our Contact Center take whenever they travel.  Everyone tries to get creative-the hat has been on a space shuttle engine, to Russia, on Apollo One and now on Kirk Weisler’s head-cool, huh??  JThanks again Kirk-you are truly an awesome person and excellent at what you do! To close, I’d like to share a quote that my dad sent me yesterday (I might add that I shared this quote at our weekly staff meeting):To lead people, walk beside them. As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence. The next best, the people honor and praise. The next, the people fear; and the next, the people hate.  When the best leaders work is done the people say, “We did it ourselves!”  ~ - Lao-tsu

Subject: Thank you from Linked In
Thank you for all the T4Ds and the inspiration you give. I first heard you speak at the HDI Convention in Dallas in 2008. You have made a profound difference in my life. Currently, I am working as an IT Support Operations Administrator but have gone back to school for Human Resources. It seems I am good with people but not so much with Technology. I hope someday to be able to inspire people to do the right thing for themselves and others.
Thanks again.

( July 2009) Kirk, you are my new best friend! Our customers are raving about you: “by far Kirk was the best”–”I thought you couldn’t top Bodine–now you won’t be able to top Kirk!”. . .on and on and on. They LOVED you!! Very likely we will try to book you for a shorter encore performance for a Quarterly Staff meeting. Thank you so much for the book you presented me–I am going to read it next week (on vacation).  Thank you, thank you, thank you for making me look good! You and your family have a wonderful 4th of July!  Thank you,  Suzanne Chambers G&A Partners Customer Care Center Manager  Kirk recieved this e-mail on June 5, 2009. No question here about his ability to effect a Lasting Positive Impact. Kirk, several years ago you spoke at an IHC event in the Salt Lake Valley (maybe about 6 years ago). During your presentation, you talked about a hike you went on with your daughter. You talked about how the trail was getting steep and difficult, but you continued on to the top. When you reached the top, you had a beautiful view and the work to get to the top was worth it.At one point during your talk, I felt that you looked right at me and I felt that your message was directed to me.This talk helped me make a very difficult decision (that I might not have made otherwise) that was hard but has been worth it.  At any rate, I felt you were inspired to look at me during this message. I have thought about this experience a number of times over the last several years and recently thought I should send you a note to thank you for your message on that day. THANK YOU! Scott Smith ===================== At the ICMI event where Kirk did morning Kick Off Keynotes - several people wrote him personal notes - here are three. Thank you for making me feel so welcome at your morning session by inviting me to sit with your parents. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know them! They are so proud of you!!!! I’m sure you know that. You have a wonderful family and it’s so great that you share them when you speak! I expressed to you how fortunate I feel you and I are to have the parents and family we are surrounded with. The same holds true for your children as I am certain they will feel the same some day> You  and Rebecca are providing them with a foundation they will carry with them forever . . . . .You are truly a special person! See you in Orlando next March! -  Holly DeZwarte (this event took place in May 2009) For details click HERE However, the great news is, I can apply the lessons learned not only at work but at home as well.  Thank you again for the book and have a safe trip home to your family.
Suzanne,  I am so excited. We just did our first “Milk & Cookie” day here at FLNG.   My assistant and I went to the breakrooms in our Maintenance and Operations buildings and baked them right there in the breakroom. (they have full kitchens). The employees loved it and the aroma of fresh cookies was even better! They ate them hot right out of the oven. … and the cold milk was a hit, too. Please share with Kirk that we took his advice and how much my employees loved it.   (I don’t have his email). The pictures are a bit blurry as I took them with my blackberry. Next time I’ll remember the good camera! Thanks again for a wonderful retreat! I truly appreciate what you do for us.  Wendy Mazurkiewicz, SPHR ~ HR Manager, Freeport LNG Development, L.P.

Hi Kirk,   Before too many more days pass by I have to write and send a quick “Hello” to let you know it was great to see you at LTC last week! I am so glad I made the time to be there. As always you inspire me and touch my heart in so many ways. I was impressed by the way you involved the youth in the crowd in your evening session. These young folks are our “future” leaders and one never knows when they will have an “ah-hah” moment so it’s important to reach them whenever we can. Your stories and thoughts certainly help me to be the best student, co-worker, supervisor, teacher, friend, and parent that I can be!
  - Thank you so much for sharing with and teaching us today. You’re personable yet insightful presentations are always unforgettable. There’s so many applicable things to take back that I wish it wasn’t already Thursday!
Mr. Weisler, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for such a wonderful presentation, this past week at the Affinity Workshop. I have been in Safety for more than 15 years and your presentation was absolutely the best presentation I have seen and heard in 15 years. I would highly recommend to anyone. I’m looking for my first book to read today.  Thank you for all you do to help keep us motivated and safe.

Mary,     - I wanted to thank you so much for putting us on to Kirk. We had a fabulous turnout, and a lot of fun. We have all gone through lots of these motivational speakers in our careers, and a week later, you have to wonder what all the fuss was about. Kirk was different. He gave us a few very pertinent and relevant facts and ideas that pertained directly to the group he was speaking with. We all came away better people.  Thank you.

Kirk, I went to 3 of your sessions at the HDI conference in Las Vegas and thought your thoughts, ideas, and attitude were absolutely amazing. I am really going to try reading to my team each meeting that we have to hopefully inspire them or simply just make them think a little bit about different ideas/topics. With that, I will definitely be adding to my library for help in managing my team and inspiring myself to be the best at whatever I do.

Sir, I want to thank you. I have not participated in an event like the HDI Conference in numerous years and the first event I attended was the Pre-Conference session you presented on Monday. You have stirred up in me some sleeping kittens. I use the kitten anology since kittens are-well kittens. I work in a typical IT enviroment and deal with customers and team members everyday. Many of the challenges I face can be handles by simply caring.
Team building as an ongoing activity, not an event. WOW!! (or backwards WOW). Sometimes simple answers are the best.
Well, I could ramble on and on. I may later.
Thanks ~ Grady Haddox   grady_haddox@transcanada.com
It is unbelievable how much I got inspired at that 2 day conference last year, and although I am still battling…I loved your T4D, which I believe is also relevant for me - courage is not necessarily that which roars, it is sometimes the one who whispers quietly, I shall try again tomorrow. I may not roar, but I will persevere! Again, many thanks for the support you give, and the insights you provide through T4D/Thought 4 the Day!
Kind Regards,

You put a whole new meaning into motivation speaking. And whoever thought that such simple everyday stories could make me cry? You are a beautiful, inspiring, man with awesome experiences. Thank you for the enlightenment… it makes me want to make a difference.

  Kirk,
We met last week at the HDI conference in Vegas. It was very brief - during the Beach Party. I also attended one of your sessions and I really enjoyed it. Actually it was my favorite session of all - you really inspired me to make a difference and to inspire my team to also make a difference. Your session was full of pertinent information that I can really use.

Kirk,
I “debriefed” our biologists last week after they returned from their meeting at Calloway Gardens…specifically wanting to find out from them whether they had come back re-invigorated after having their dose of Kirk Weisler!! Â And, you’ll be delighted to know (I’m sure this doesn’t come as a surprise to you!!), that you have touched even the most cynical of our bunch. Â The day to day battles of bureaucratic red tape can often times burn out even the brightest souls, so getting a re-charge from you was just what the doctor ordered!! Â We’ve got a mission to accomplish and what a mission it is!! Â And…as you so eloquently taught us…it’s all in the delivery!!
Take care and keep inspiring!!

Kirk, I got home from the meeting and I have to say I feel cheated.  I cheated myself of the opportunity to attend the morning session.  You are truly inspirational and I’ve spent the last two hours reeling in shock at how much energy you’ve given me. I will truly take to heart the lessons you’ve given me, and I cannot thank you enough.  If you ever need anything, do not hesitate to ask.  ~ matt beran

Hello Kirk this is NaRyan Craighead.  I just wanted to take time out to personally thank you again for your awesome speech that you and your wife gave down in Baltimore. I really want to enhance my life and make slight changes. I really do believe in theory of continuous improvement even if it only starts with one degree. Just wanted to let you know that I checked out your website too and im on my way to purchasing one of the books that you recommended. I definitely want to get started on the good foot with me unlocking my full potential. I feel like that on 9-13-08 a big part of me did a lot of growing up. I definitely re evaluated a lot of things going on in my life and made a goals list for myself. I know I will achieve my goals and Im certainly glad that you were able to rekindle some of my lost goals.    In summary Im very glad that I was blessed and had the opportunity to hear you speak. Thanks again for all of your inspiration and your tips for success….Don’t worry you definitely will hear from me again. I will be in contact.   Sincerely   ~~NaRyan Craighead    DaVita Inc.

Kirk,
We are a stronger organization due to the content you shared with conference participants. You shared valuable tools that CPDs can implement in their counties. I believe you helped county program directors, and others, recognize that although they don’t supervise all staff in the county office, they truly can influence and inspire everyone to exhibit remarkable performance.

It’s been three months since you were at Tampa Electric and I wanted to send you a handwritten note saying “thank you” for the gifts you gave me with your time and presentation. Â
As I haven’t taken the time to write a handwritten note, I hope I can communicate the sincerity of my feelings in an e-mail.  What I learned from you in the three days you were here is worth more to me than what the company paid for your visit. I studied every one of your presentations. I watched how you engaged people, how you dealt with those who weren’t engaged, how you moved around the room, your facial expressions, mannerisms, timing and cadence of your speech, posture, and how you wove together the story you were telling. Â
What I got from this time with you will only be measured with what I do with the rest of my professional career. You inspired me to reach deep within and pull out those things that I am most passionate about. Strangely, those passions were caged by fear and insecurity. Your example and willingness to be open with me one-on-one was instrumental in my developing the courage to confess and act upon those passions.  I don’t know how to say thank you in a way that communicates my sincerity and gratitude. So I’ll just say thank you and let you imagine how I might feel.       Â

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for sharing so much with us. It was very educational for me. Not only for work, but for my home life also. I am a mom of two wonderful boys who have been blessed to have me at home for many years. About 3 years ago, I had to go to work full time. Even though they were in school all day, it has been quite a struggle for me and them to deal with the “emotional” baggage I carry from work. I strive to let work stay at work, but it is very hard sometimes. I have several of my staff that fit into your examples (the cynical one, the one who has to be right, etc) and I realize that no matter where I go, or what I do, they will be there. I had a real eye opener.
Thanks for your insight and uplifting program! I look forward to reading your books and using some of the information that you shared with us. It was amazing to think that it takes only a small thing to make a difference. I sure hope that I will make that difference and pass that onto my children!
God Bless you!
Christina

Kirk,
I just wanted to tell you that you did a phenomenal job and I was greatly encouraged. Your points were very well made and delivered with passion and enthusiasm. It is evident that you truly believe what you present.
I look forward to looking through your site, reading some of the books you brought up, and learning and applying more.
In fact today, I wrote a hand-written note on the the “I See in You…” template I gave you and left it for one of my team members so she can read it when she comes in tomorrow.
Hope your wife does great in the competition!
Thank again and God bless!

Hey Kirk,
We all wanted to thank you again for your new book, “The Cookie Thief.†It is so cute and is right along the lines of your first book; it entertains and teaches all at the same time!
Josh has been carrying the book around everywhere and telling people about it. He even has taken it to bed with him and read it before bed and as soon as he woke up!
Thank you so much!

Kirk,
We just received our survey results following your presentation on 2/28, and the comments were all very positive. Here are a few I want to share with you:
Speaker was excellent in his presentation. Loved his mix of humor yet seriousness of the subject. I feel it was a much needed teaching.
I would like to thank all those involved and the Department for giving us the opportunity to attend this presentation. Mr. Weisler is an excellent speaker. I would also like to express my appreciate for the well organized tours of the downtown building. This was my first visit to the downtown building in my 15+ years with the company. It was also nice to be able to spend time with Corporate Law associates outside my section. Thanks again.
This was a terrific presentation, and I’m so glad that I attended. Kirk was excellent and his discussion about positive communication is very relevant to all of our responsibilities. I’ll be reading his books and several others that he recommended. I also appreciated the opportunity to tour the downtown building. It has so much history, and was a good lead-in to the program. Thanks again to everyone involved.
EXCELLENT SPEAKER!!!!!! Kirk brought up theories I’ve heard before, like the ‘5 Love Languages,’ but put them in a work context. Totally awesome experience! We should bring him back for an all-corporate law staff meeting!
I thought this presentation was truly awesome and I have seen a marked improvement in my attitudes because of it. I have made changes in my personal life as well as my professional life to reflect what was discussed, and I have found myself to be much happier since listening to Kirk Weisler’s presentation. I thank everyone involved in bringing him to State Farm.
I love the last one and it makes me feel very proud that I took the step to contact you for this presentation and made a small difference in someone’s life. Thank you so much.

Hello Kirk,
I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom. I actually had the opportunity to use one of your “alternative words” approaches yesterday when meeting with an individual outside my department who had made a mistake that greatly affected my department (again). Instead of showing my frustration in a negative way which would have put them on the defensive, I followed your recommended approach of “you’re better than that” (which is a true statement). Their response was one of remorse, and what appeared to be an earnest desire to make it right. Only time will tell in this particular instance, but I feel better about myself for how I was able to handle the situation.
I’m sure I’ll have many setbacks over the course of my career, but I’m confident the net result over time will be much improvement.
Thank you again for such a meaningful experience… time in your sessions was time well-spent.
Best Regards,

Kirk, I am with Davis School District, you spoke at our retreat today. I must say I really had my doubts about a motivational speaker but you really connected with me and made a great impression. Hi Kirk,  Hope you are doing well. I wanted to thank you for the time you spent with us. I learn so much from you each time you visit us.  Last weekend you mentioned a statement your wife put on your fridge. I tried to write it down but my shorthand leaves something to be desired.  Will you email that statement? I would truly appreciate it. You are the man! That is exactly what I was looking for… now I also have another book to go out and get. Forever thankful that our paths have crossed, you have reminded me of so much I had let slide, taught me so much and opened my eyes to a world of good.
Thanks so much Kirk. ~ Dan

Kirk, I heard the presentation you did for the Atlanta Management Society. It was wonderful! Thank you. I have since read The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work (and several business books) based on your recommendation. It was worth it. Thank you. I just finished reading The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. It is at least as helpful as Gottman’s book and is an easy, enjoyable, and memorable read. I believe it could help many people have happier lives. Thanks for all you are doing to make the world a better place. ~ Lisa Kotter

Kirk,  Thank you so much for presenting to our group. It was valuable information that our team can use in their everyday work and home environments to enrich their lives as well as those around them.  Keep up the good work!
