How do we build TRUST
“One of the most important ways to manifest integrity is to be loyal to those who are not present. In doing so, we build the trust of those who are present. ~Stephen Covey, Author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
I will always remember being at a meeting where Stephen Covey was asked what could be done to build or rebuild trust after it was lost. His reply was profoundly simple, he said , “Make a promise and keep it. It doesn’t matter whether it is big of small.. After you have kept your promise… do it again.”
I promise to send another Covey quote tomorrow.Â

Hi Kirk,
Our CEO, Cathy Nash, is a dynamic leader and sets a positive and challenging tone for the bank. Stephen Covey’s quote reminds me of a phrase that she has repeated several times lately, and credits to the head of our Auditing Team, Lousie O’Connell: “We will always do the next right thing.” It’s a way of doing business that she expects the entire organization to believe in and accomplish every day.
I’m proud to work for an organization that espouses this kind of day-in and day-out integrity as the way to win, especially in this era of rampant mistrust in our banking system — fueled by the media, the government, and most importantly by the poor practices of many banks themselves.
Thanks,
Jim
